The setup

Duke Koa is the God of the Island in hiding, and riding his Koa board matters to him almost as much as guarding his home. When the Sea Hag curses the board smaller, she names a price: Duke must marry her human daughter, Kai, and stay five years, and then he gets it back. He agrees and settles in as a devoted househusband who keeps Kai's marriage and her surfing career going, while she treats him as an opportunist who is not worth much. His plan is to sit out the five years quietly. Then Kai's ex, Chad Broman, returns, Angela Lee, who runs QuickMaple, becomes part of Duke's life, and he has to choose between staying and walking away. The story runs 52 episodes as an AI-animated motion comic.

Duke Koa loses the use of his Koa surfboard when the Sea Hag shrinks it, and can have it back only by marrying her daughter Kai for five years. Months later he weds Kai. Three days before their fifth anniversary he saves the legendary surfer Mickey Lee from a shark, and Mickey, who sees his powers, agrees to help sponsor Kai's career. Kai's ex Chad Broman turns up, flirts his way back in and frames Duke. Chad lures Kai to his home, secretly records her and sends the footage to Duke, who rushes over, pulls him away and nearly goes too far; Kai slaps Duke and blames him. Duke finally asks her for a divorce. In the finale Kai sees Chad only wanted a trophy and begs for another chance, but Duke refuses and ends up with Angela Lee, Mickey's daughter, revealing who he really is.
