The setup

Vivian catches her fiancé cheating and, instead of crying it out, marries a striking older man she barely knows. Only afterwards does she find out who he is: Quentin, the father of the fiancé she has just left. Neither of them went in for love. The marriage has an end date two weeks out, and each side gets something concrete from it: the deal hands Quentin a CEO title, and it gives Vivian the money she needs to pay for her ill father's care. The son does not let go quietly. He keeps finding new ways to shame Vivian, and Quentin keeps stepping in on her side, which pulls the paper marriage toward something neither of them agreed to.
