The setup

Carl Oliver, nicknamed the King of Guns, sets a world record for the longest confirmed kill, then loses Lewis, the friend who died saving him, and walks away from the spotlight and his Medal of Honor ceremony, vowing never to draw blood again. A year on he is doing odd jobs at a shooting range owned by Lewis's daughter Jane, swallowing sneers from the club's captain while nobody knows who he is. When a hostile takeover and a contest over the range's fate threaten Jane and her young daughter Rebecca, Carl quietly steps up to protect them, and his skill starts raising questions about who he really is.
